Monitor Biztalk applications

FRENDS Helium shows the overall status of all BizTalk applications. Helium provides BizTalk Group level overview of suspended instances and the status of BizTalk Server and its applications.

Silence Monitoring

Helium 2.0 includes feature called silence monitoring - it offers capabilities to create triggers for BizTalk artefacts which are monitoring number of executions. Typical use cases for silence monitoring are "There has to be at least n orders incoming during business hours, if not send an alert" or "Send an alert if orchestration X is not executed daily".

Monitors can be set for each send port, receive location or orchestration within the BizTalk environment and threshold limit specifies the number of executions. If the limit value is not reached an alert is initiated by email and logged to Windows event log.

Silence monitors can be configured following ways:

Hourly monitors are checked every hour when configured time windows is active
Daily monitors are checked once per day after the selected time window

Radon stand-alone version is free for internal business use and FRENDS Iron compatible Radon version offers more easier configuration possibilities.

Follow and analyze messaging throughput

Throughput graph gives an quick overview of BizTalk system load with hourly number of:

Completed orchestrations
Messages sent and received

The messaging counts are gathered for the past 7 days from BizTalk Servers. Throughput graphs are also available on application level so it's easy to follow messaging throughput in more detail as well.

Performance counter graphs show load on the BizTalk server. Helium provides counters that typically are needed to monitor in BizTalk environments. Counters are divided into four groups:

General resource usage
BizTalk host process resource usage
BizTalk message box performance
BizTalk throttling
